Once upon a time (like in a fairytale) I had to go get a Russian visa from the Russian embassy and I thought would be cool if I wore a shirt because the weather was really hot out there. I couldn’t find the clean one and decided to steal it from my neighbor. He even didn’t notice his t-shirt lost. It had «CCCP» written on it. I wanted to go to Russia because my neighbor (he himself again lol) introduced me one beautiful Russian lady. I was deeply interested in her and I was looking for a way forward to make it serious you know. So I decided going over to visit her and hang out with her would show that I was serious about our relationship. I got to the embassy and everyone who saw me was extra polite with me (last year I tried getting a visa but was denied ). I arrived too early, but just in time.
The Consul who took my interview was a very tall and heavy man. At first I thought he was very strict. I guessed I was in trouble. He sat down and asked me to sit down too. He crossed his legs and I saw a bright yellow socks with burgers under a very solid pants. After that, I realized that we would probably get along. He had scratched his head and studied my file.
Instead of questions I was engaged in a conversation about the era of CCCP times , trust me I had no idea but nodded and laughed off with him. He gave me the visa I needed too. I realized it was because of the СССР T-shirt. I got home only to google and find out it was all about Soviet Union (The Soviet Union, officially known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR or СССР).
I flew from New York. I got to the Moscow airport and Katya met me there. I was wearing the CCCP T-shirt which gave me more attention and everyone kept saying “Privet” which means hello.
Katya was laughing out loud when I told her about what happened to me in details. She bought me a new one СССР T-shirt as a gift and asked never steal my neighbor's stuff again.
All I can say now is thanks to the CCCP T-shirt I was able to meet my girlfriend. lol
